![]() One of my grandfathers was wounded in the Great War (First World War) and an uncle died in the bombing of London during the ‘Blitz’ of Sept. We, too, whether or not we are Jewish, must continue to remember the Holocaust and its victims, just as we need to keep alive the memory of the sacrifice made by so many of the members of our Armed Forces in time of war.įor some of us, Remembrance Day has a very personal meaning because we had family members who served in the Forces, including some who did not return to their homes.
